This season, many top players like Joel Embiid, Scottie Barnes, Kevin Durant, Paolo Banchero, and Kawhi Leonard are missing due to injuries.
Struggling All-Stars
Some of last year’s stars aren’t doing well either. Let’s look at three All-Stars from the 2023-24 season who are having a tough time this year.
Tyrese Haliburton
Haliburton is having a hard time shooting. He’s only making 30.7% of his three-point shots and 37.9% overall. This is bad news for the Indiana Pacers because they need his scoring to make up for their weak defense. The team is letting in too many points and has a losing record of 7-10 after being so good last year.
Fans hope Haliburton can turn things around soon; otherwise, he might not make it to the All-Star game again next year.
Paul George
George has been injured with knee problems twice this season and hasn’t played well even when fit. The Philadelphia 76ers have won just one out of eight games with him playing, and he’s not scoring much or shooting accurately.
The Sixers’ season has been rough with injuries and team issues. While Embiid gets blamed for locker room troubles, maybe it’s time to look at George’s role too. Despite playing with big names like Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook, George hasn’t won a championship yet.
In 2020, reports said that George and Kawhi Leonard had too much control over the Clippers’ schedules, causing tension in the team.
Bam Adebayo
Adebayo’s performance has dropped this season; he’s scoring less and not rebounding as much as before. His shooting percentage has also fallen significantly from his usual high standards.
Coach Erik Spoelstra’s new strategy might be affecting Adebayo since it reduces mid-range shots where he usually excels. Tyler Herro noted during preseason that they didn’t practice mid-range shots at all.
So far this season, Adebayo is trying more three-pointers than ever but isn’t hitting them often enough on a Miami Heat team struggling in their conference standings
