Aaron Gordon’s Olympics Snub Reaction

Aaron Gordon thought he deserved a spot on Team USA’s Paris Olympics roster after helping the Nuggets win their first championship in 2023.

Gordon’s Disappointment:

In a chat with reporters, Gordon talked about the Serbia vs. Team USA game in Paris where his teammate, Nikola Jokic, played against the Americans. He revealed he was upset that he didn’t get a call from USA Basketball to join the team. "I was really torn," Gordon said. "One, I was asked if I wanted to play for Team USA, and then the call never came around."

He added that seeing Jokic almost beat Team USA made him feel mixed emotions. He felt proud of his teammate but also disappointed about not being part of it.

Backlash and Clarification:

Gordon faced some criticism online for seeming like he was rooting against his country during the game against Jokic. Later, he clarified on X (formerly Twitter) that Steve Kerr had offered him a spot on Team USA after the Nuggets defeated the Warriors last year.

Other Players’ Disappointments:

Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, and Donovan Mitchell also shared their feelings about not being picked for the 12-man squad at the Paris Olympics.

We think it’s tough when talented players don’t get selected for big events like this.

Nuggets’ Upcoming Season:

The Nuggets start their new season against the Thunder on Oct. 24. Last season ended disappointingly for them when they lost to the Timberwolves in the second round of playoffs. Despite this setback, they still have good odds to win it all this season according to BetMGM.
