In Friday’s game, A’ja Wilson led her team to an 84-70 win over the Atlanta Dream.
She made history by becoming only the second player ever to score at least 33 points and grab 18 rebounds in a single game. This performance was her 13th double-double of the season, joining Brittney Griner (2018) in this rare achievement.
Wilson’s stats were incredible: she shot 13-of-23 from the field and nailed 3-of-4 three-pointers. She also added five blocks and three steals to her tally.
Dominant may not even be the word anymore… A’ja Wilson is truly one of a kind

Wilson’s Dominance Continues:
Wilson has been on fire lately. Over her last five games, she’s averaged nearly a double-double with stats like these: 27.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, and four blocks per game. Fans might think she’s unstoppable right now!
She’s leading the league in scoring with an average of 26.9 points per game and also tops in blocks with an average of 2.7 per game while ranking second in rebounds at 11.3 per game.
According to FanDuel odds (-2200), Wilson is heavily favored to win MVP again this year. If she does win it, she’ll join Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson as one of only four players to have won it three times.
But for Wilson, being called the best player isn’t enough for her.
“I get y’all saying ‘best player in the world,’ that’s great,” she said tearfully back in June via Paloma Villicana of Fox 5. “I want to be the best person; I want to be the best teammate because that’s how I get the best out of my team.”
Right now, thanks to Wilson’s leadership and stellar play on court, her team has won nine out of their last ten games! They are just behind New York Liberty by only three-and-a-half games after improving their record to fifteen wins against seven losses with Friday’s victory.
