LeBron James has had many memorable moments during his time with the Lakers, but they often came with a loss.
Breaking Records and Finally Winning:
In his seventh season opener as a Laker, LeBron made history again by playing alongside his son Bronny as the first father-son duo in the NBA. This time, the Lakers actually won the game. Anthony Davis couldnโt resist poking fun at LeBron for finally making history on a winning night. He joked about how previous record-breaking nights usually ended in losses, which kind of ruined those special moments.
“This is the first time we had a LeBron moment that was something huge and we won [laughs],” Davis said.

Davis’s Dominance:
Back in March 2024, Davis also teased LeBron about breaking records during losses. This playful banter was even featured in Netflix’s “Starting 5” docuseries. But jokes aside, if Davis keeps playing like he did against the Timberwolves, where he scored 36 points with 16 rebounds and more, the Lakers will be tough to beat this season. His performance marked the highest points by a Laker in a season opener since 2007.

Fans love when players show their fun side; it makes them feel more human.
Aiming for Defensive Player of the Year:
Davis is already making an early case for Defensive Player of the Year after feeling snubbed last year. In his post-game chat on Tuesday, he confidently mentioned that his stats are worthy of such an award while giving a meaningful look at the cameraโmaybe hoping voters take notice this season. The Lakers will face off against Kevin Durantโs Suns and DeโAaron Foxโs Kings soon, promising some exciting basketball action ahead!
