At one point during the playoffs, it seemed like the Timberwolves were serious contenders led by Anthony Edwards.
Anthony Edwards’ Confidence
Even though they got knocked out by Luka Doncic’s Dallas team, Anthony’s confidence didn’t waver. Now at Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas, he boldly claimed that the team would revolve around him. When asked about his role alongside stars like Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and LeBron James, he confidently said, “I’m still the No. 1 option. Y’all might look at it differently, but I don’t.”

Edwards’ Performance and Attitude
In his four-year career so far, he’s shown incredible talent with an average of 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game last season. Despite being the youngest on Team USA’s roster for the Olympics in Paris, he believes he’ll play a key role: “I just go out there and be myself… Shoot my shots, play defense. They’ve got to fit in to play around me.”
Fans love his confidence!
Other Stars Joining Team USA
Like Edwards, other big names such as Joel Embiid and Kawhi Leonard are also making their Olympic debuts this summer. Steph Curry expressed his excitement too: “When you have this type of talent — the best in our league and the best in the world — we want to continue our dominance as Team USA.” He added that winning this time would be tougher than ever.
Moving Past Playoff Disappointment
Anthony has decided to move on from last season’s playoff loss against Dallas: “That s–t gone. I can’t do nothing about that… It’s over with.” Now he’s focused on what lies ahead.
Playing Alongside His Idol
Training with Kevin Durant is a dream come true for Anthony since KD is his favorite player ever: “Playing alongside KD… That’s my favorite player of all time… I want to see the Olympic KD.” He looks forward to watching Durant win games up close now instead of just on TV.
