Anthony Edwards Explains No Gold Medal Celebration

Team USA Basketball had a hiccup while celebrating their Olympic gold medal.

During Fanatics Fest in New York, Anthony Edwards shared that he, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry were drug-tested right after their victory over France.

“After the gold medal (game), I’m not gonna lie,” Edwards said. “Me and (Durant) had a drug test. We couldn’t even really celebrate for real in the locker room because me, him, and Steph had to take like a drug test or something.”

Drug Testing After the Win:

The International Olympic Committee rules state they can test athletes anytime during the Olympics. So, it wasn’t shocking they picked these players right after the final game.

Edwards scored eight points off the bench in that game against France. Durant started for the first time in these Olympics despite his calf injury and scored 15 points. But Curry stole the show with 24 points, especially dominating towards the end of the game.

Fans might think this was an odd way to celebrate such a big win.
