On Tuesday, Minnesota surprised Dallas and secured their first win in the Western Conference Finals.
Game 5 Hopes
Now, as they return to Minnesota for Game 5, they’re aiming to make NBA history by coming back from a 3-0 series deficit. After the game, Anthony Edwards made it clear he wasn’t ready to end the season with a sweep.
“I’ve never been clean-swept in my career… even though I’ve only been to the playoffs three times, I’ve never been swept. So, I took it personal. I definitely didn’t wanna get swept. Not on their home court, hearing the fans talk trash – all day,” said Edwards. “So, I think we came out and competed at a high-level today.”
Anthony Edwards didn’t want to be swept and he made sure the Timberwolves had the same mentality 🔥
“If they win this game it’s 4-0, they not gonna feel sorry for us bruh.”#NBAPlayoffs #WolvesBack #OneForDallas

Team Effort
Edwards scored 29 points with almost a triple-double performance and praised Karl-Anthony Towns for stepping up after struggling in previous games. “He was super confident,” Edwards said about Towns’ performance.
Towns scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half and kept his team’s hopes alive in their first Conference Finals appearance in twenty years. “Being aggressive,” Towns emphasized after making key shots.
I think it’s amazing how they turned things around just when everyone thought it was over.
Luka Doncic managed another triple-double but struggled with shooting accuracy along with Kyrie Irving; together they made only 13 of their 39 attempts from the field.
“That game’s on me. Just didn’t give enough energy,” Luka admitted after hitting only seven out of twenty-one shots. “They won one game. We’ve just got to focus on the next one.”
Coach Finch’s Influence
Coach Chris Finch almost got ejected due to his intense coaching style but inspired his team throughout Game 3.
Mike Conley highlighted Finch’s impact: “To have him be on the sideline but behind the bench for most of these playoffs… When your coach is up getting technicals and yelling… it’s impressive.”
The Timberwolves fought hard despite foul troubles that saw Towns fouling out late in the game while Edwards and Rudy Gobert finished with five fouls each.
“We weathered a lot of foul trouble out there,” Finch noted post-game. “Credit to our guys—they found a way to win.”
