Boom! Ben Simmons is back in the spotlight, and not just for his fashion choices.
Ben’s Big Night: Finally Hitting Double Digits
Remember when Ben Simmons was lighting up the court like it was nobodyโs business? Yeah, those were the days. Fast forward to now, and our guy Ben has finally cracked double digits for the first time in what feels like foreverโnine months to be exact. Against the Hornets, he dropped ten points, snagged eight boards, dished out five assists, and swiped three steals. Not too shabby, right? Only Domantas Sabonis has managed more games with 5/5/5 on at least 70% shooting this season. But letโs be real, we all thought Simmons would be doing this in his sleep by now.
And speaking of sleep, itโs been a bit of a nightmare for him since the Sixersโ playoff run fizzled out three years ago. Injuries have been a constant thorn in his side. But hey, maybe this game is a sign of better things to come. Or maybe it’s just a flash in the pan. Who knows?
Nets’ Trade Rumors: Is Simmons on the Move?
So hereโs the juicy part: word on the street is that the Nets might be ready to shake things up come trade deadline. Nobody on the roster is safe, including Simmons. Could we see him packing his bags and heading to a new city? I think itโs a real possibility. The Nets have been a bit of a mixed bag this season, and a trade could be the spark they needโor not. Speaking of trades, did you catch that wild Curry rumor? Crazy stuff.

Staying on the Court: A New Chapter for Simmons?
Let’s talk about consistencyโor lack thereof. Simmons has suited up for 10 out of the Nets’ 15 games so far. Not bad for someone who’s been labeled as unreliable. Since his trade to New York in 2022, he’s been battling back injuries and even went under the knife for a partial discectomy. Ouch. But here he is, trying to make it work.
Coach Jordi Fernandez had some interesting thoughts after the Charlotte game, especially about Simmonsโ free-throw attemptsโor the lack of them. “Probably heโs very good at avoiding fouls,” Fernandez mused. “I want him to be aggressive and attempt more shots.” Sounds like a plan, coach. But seriously, when Simmons is on the floor, the pace picks up, and thatโs gotta count for something.
So, whatโs next for Simmons and the Nets? Will he stay put or find himself in a new jersey soon? And will he ever regain his All-Star form? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: the basketball world will be watching closely. What do you thinkโcan Simmons turn it around, or are we looking at the twilight of his career?
