Record-Breaking Season:
With twelve games left in the season, it’s exciting to think how far Clark can push her new record . Fans might wonder if she can challenge for the all-time single-season assist record. Alyssa Thomas of Connecticut Sun set that high bar with 316 assists last year.
Clark averages about 8.3 assists per game right now. If she keeps this up and plays all remaining games, it will be close but not impossible to reach Thomas’ mark. Interestingly enough, since June 23rd, she’s been averaging an impressive 11.7 assists per game and has racked up 130 assists over her last twelve matches.
Fans might feel hopeful yet skeptical about her catching up to Thomas’ record; it seems like a long shot . But then again, doubting Caitlin might be foolish considering what she’s already achieved: from recording the first-ever rookie triple-double to being the fastest player to hit both 400 points and 200 assists.
