The Celtics have decided to keep Sam Hauser for another season.
They will pay him $2.1 million, as reported by Adam Himmelsbach from the Boston Globe. Talks about a longer contract are set to start on July 9.
Brad Stevens said, “I will say we want Hauser to be here for a long time.”
Hauser joined the team in 2021 and quickly became an important player off the bench. Last season, he averaged 9 points per game and shot 42.4% from three-point range in 79 games. He also played in 14 playoff games and helped the Celtics win their first title.
Future Contract Talks:
If they don’t agree on an extension before or during the next season, Hauser will become a free agent after that. Fans are probably excited about this news because it means stability for their team.
Sometimes, keeping key players can make all the difference in winning more games and titles. What do you think?
