Chris Paul has always been full of surprises, and even at 39, he continues to make unexpected moves like joining Golden State.
In a chat with Forbes, Chris shared his dream of owning an NBA team one day but emphasized he still wants to play as long as possible.
Future Aspirations:
During the interview, Chris expressed interest in being part of his hometown team. “Charlotte is definitely home, but I’m open. Especially if there’s expansion or something like that,” he said.

“I’ve been involved with the league for too long,” Chris added. “Just knowing the game, understanding the GMs, player relations… I want to own a team.”
Interest in Women’s Basketball:
Chris also thinks about investing in the WNBA. He believes women’s basketball will grow significantly in the coming years.
“Every year since I’ve been in the NBA I’ve been to a WNBA game,” Chris said. He’s excited about their future and wants to help them grow their game organically.
Women’s sports are becoming more popular now. “People are finally starting to see just how amazing their game is,” Chris noted. They have so much talent and play so smoothly; it’s really exciting!
Not Ready for Retirement:
Despite playing 19 seasons and facing a tough loss against Sacramento Kings, Chris isn’t ready to retire yet.
“I’ll talk to my wife and my kids… But this isn’t (the end of my career). I know it for sure,” he insisted.
He spends lots of time with family even though they don’t live together most of the year due to his NBA schedule.
I think it’s inspiring how dedicated he remains despite everything.
“I haven’t thought about retiring,” Chris said. “I was in the gym at 8 a.m., lifting weights and getting ready for this game.” He plans on discussing his future with Mike Dunleavy and Steve Kerr when it’s time but insists he’s not done yet.
