Davis Bertans is now a free agent after leaving the Charlotte Hornets.
Michael Scotto from HoopsHype reports that the New York Knicks are interested in signing him.
The New York Knicks are among the teams who’ve expressed interest in signing free agent Davis Bertans, league sources told @hoopshype. Bertans has shot 39.6% from 3-point range in his career and played for Latvia in the FIBA Olympics Qualifying Tournament.

Bertans is known for his three-point shooting skills. In his eight years in the NBA, most of his shots have been from beyond the arc. He makes about 39.6% of those shots, which is pretty good .
Potential Fit with the Knicks:
To play for Tom Thibodeau’s Knicks, you need to be a strong defender. If you can switch positions and play tough defense, you’ll get playing time. However, many players who are good at shooting or scoring often struggle with defense.
Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, and Bojan Bogdanovic all had trouble fitting into Thibodeau’s system because they couldn’t defend well enough. Fans might think this could be a problem for Bertans too.
Bertans will probably get offers from other NBA teams as well. The Knicks offer a chance to compete but might hurt his value if he can’t defend well enough under Thibodeau’s system.
In conclusion, it might not be wise for Bertans to join the Knicks if he wants to maximize his strengths without being penalized for defensive weaknesses. What do you think? Should he look elsewhere?
