De’Aaron Fox Sets Unwanted Record with 60-Point Game

De’Aaron Fox made history on Friday by scoring 60 points, the most ever by a Kings player, but Sacramento still lost to Minnesota in overtime.

Historic Performance

Fox’s incredible night placed him in a unique group of point guards who have scored 60 points and still faced defeat. He joined the ranks of Jalen Brunson, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Kemba Walker.

Record-Breaking Night

Despite the loss, Fox became one of only 13 players to score 60 points in a game that ended in defeat. Wilt Chamberlain holds this record with 11 such games! The Kings’ previous high was Jack Twyman’s 59 points back when they were known as the Cincinnati Royals. Now, only the Hawks remain without a player scoring 60 or more.

Pride Amidst Challenges

Even though Sacramento didn’t win, Fox has much to celebrate. Missing key players like DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk didn’t stop them from pushing into overtime against Minnesota.

Fans are thrilled with Fox’s performance despite the loss; it’s not every day you witness such determination!

Team Support and Future Games

Afterward, Fox shared how his teammates encouraged him to aim for the record. At halftime, he had just 21 points while trailing by eight. By turning up his game in the third quarter with an explosive run, he nearly turned things around.

“I wanted this game over in regulation,” Fox mentioned via ESPN. “But my teammates pushed me to keep going.”

Next up for the Kings is hosting the Jazz on Saturday nightโ€”another chance for excitement!
