Disrespected NBA Stars Motivated by 2K25 Ratings

2K Sports recently announced the top 100 NBA player ratings for NBA 2K25.

Nikola Jokic:

Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo all share the highest rating of 97 overall. Despite winning his third MVP award and maintaining his skills, Jokic’s rating dropped from 98 to 97. This might motivate him even more after not securing another NBA title since his first in 2023.

Jimmy Butler:

Injuries impacted Jimmy Butler’s rating as he ended last season with a knee injury. His overall rating fell to 89, placing him below players like Kyrie Irving and Tyrese Haliburton. This seems unfair given Butler’s ability to lead teams to the NBA Finals twice. Fans feel this drop is too disrespectful for someone of his caliber.

Scottie Barnes:

Scottie Barnes had a breakout season after Toronto traded OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam. He posted career highs across multiple stats but still received a lower-than-expected rating. Placing him behind less responsible players like Dejounte Murray feels unjustified. We believe he will continue proving doubters wrong with his skill growth.

Fans think Scottie deserves better!

James Harden:

James Harden saw a significant drop from an overall rating of 89 to just 84 this year. For someone with an MVP title, being rated alongside younger players like Jalen Green is surprising. When asked about it, Harden said confidently, “I’m going to show them on the court.”

“Nah, I don’t… I’m going to show ’em on the court.”

It remains unclear if Harden can prove critics wrong but given his talent we wouldn’t be surprised if he does
