Draymond Green recently stepped into a general manager role for the Golden State Warriors.
On the “Club 520 Podcast,” he shared his thoughts on some trades the team almost made last week. He told them that while one trade would benefit him and Steph Curry, it was ultimately a bad move for the organization.
> “We was just about to make some trades last week,” Green said on the podcast. “And I told them straight up, like, ‘Yo, that trade will help me.’ It’ll help me right now in my career these last couple of years and Step (Curry). But I’ve always spoke to ya’ll from a place of, ‘What’s best for this organization?’ I won’t stop now. That’s a bad trade; don’t do that trade. I disagree with it although it’s going to help me right now.”
Trade Rumors and Team Changes:
Green’s comments are especially interesting because the Warriors have been linked to Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen in recent rumors. While he didn’t specify which players were involved in these talks, fans might wonder if he was referring to Markkanen.
The Warriors are already gearing up for changes next season with Klay Thompson leaving and new faces like Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, and Kyle Anderson joining the roster.
Fans might think it’s wise for Draymond to prioritize long-term success over short-term gains.
It’ll be worth watching if Golden State makes any more moves before next season starts. They finished as the No. 10 seed in a very competitive Western Conference last year.
What do you think? Should they make more trades or stick with what they have?
