Fever’s Caitlin Clark Makes History vs. Wings

Another day, another amazing feat by Caitlin Clark. On Wednesday, she made history for both the WNBA and Indiana Fever, just 26 games into her pro career.

In the last game before the All-Star break, Clark became the fastest player ever to reach 400 points and 200 assists in a season.

Caitlin Clark reached 400 PTS and 200 AST in just 26 games, the fewest career games needed in WNBA history

The previous low was 33 games by Sue Bird.

Record-Breaking Rookie:

Clark is now one of only nine players in WNBA history to get over 400 points and 200 assists in a single season. Even more impressively, she’s the first rookie to do it. She’s also just the second first-year player ever to hit that assist mark.

On Wednesday’s game against Dallas Wings, she scored an impressive total of 24 points on a solid shooting performance (10-of-19). Despite losing with a score of 101-93, Clark continued her giving spree with record-breaking assists.

Fans might think she’s unstoppable at this point!

She set a new WNBA record with an astonishing number of assistsโ€”19 in one game! This broke Courtney Vandersloot’s previous record of 18 dimes.

With those assists adding up to a total of now-213 for this year alone, she surpassed Erica Wheelerโ€™s previous record for most assists by any Fever player in one season.

However it’s worth noting that she also holds another less glamorous title: most turnovers (145) for any Fever player in one season. But hey, when you’re doing everything on court like scoring and assisting at historic levels, some mistakes are bound to happen.

Clarkโ€™s versatility is unmatched; before Wednesday’s action she was on track to become the only player ever averaging at least these stats:

16.8 points,
7.8 assists,
5.8 rebounds,
and
1.5 steals per game.

Her achievements so far are incredible but remember there are still fourteen games left! Who knows what other records she’ll break?

What do you think about Caitlinโ€™s performance so far?
