Alright, hoop heads, buckle up! We’ve got some big news coming out of Atlanta that’s gonna shake things up in the Hawks’ front office.
Big Moves in the Hawks’ Nest
So, the Atlanta Hawks just dropped a bombshell: Andrew Saltzman is stepping up as the new President of Business Enterprise and Chief Commercial Officer. Yeah, you heard that right. Saltzman, who was already making waves as the EVP and CRO, is now taking the reins of the business side of things. This guy’s been the mastermind behind some major deals, not just for the Hawks but also for State Farm Arena.
From Deals to Big Bucks
When Saltzman was the EVP and CRO, he was the dude driving all kinds of business opportunities. Local, regional, internationalโyou name it, he was on it. He even had his hands in the College Park Skyhawks and Hawks Talon Gaming Club. Now, as the President of Business Enterprise and COO, he’s got even more on his plate. He’s tasked with unlocking new commercial opportunities and driving enterprise value through strategic integrations, partnerships, and service agreements. Talk about leveling up!
The Hawks announced that they have promoted Andrew Saltzman to President of Business Enterprise and Chief Commercial Officer. Saltzman previously served as EVP & Chief Revenue Officer for the team, as well as State Farm Arena.

Hawks Ventures: Betting on the Future
One of the coolest parts of Saltzman’s new gig? Overseeing Hawks Ventures. This mission-driven fund is all about backing minority-led and underrepresented startups. It’s not just about making money; it’s about making a difference. I think this move is gonna put the Hawks on the map as a forward-thinking organization. Plus, itโs a smart way to find strategic investments that can benefit both the Hawks and State Farm Arena businesses.
Big Events, Bigger Opportunities
Saltzman’s gonna be busy with some major events coming up. Remember the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Festival at State Farm Arena? Well, that’s just the beginning. With the Centennial Yards downtown district launching in 2025, the 2025 College Football National Championship, and the FIFA World Cup 2026, Saltzman has a ton of opportunities to boost revenue.
Speaking of revenue, did you know Saltzman was the brains behind the multi-year jersey patch partnership with Sharecare, Inc.? That deal snagged the NBA โPartnership of the Yearโ Award in 2017. Not too shabby, right?
From High School Sports to Big League Broadcasting
Before joining the Hawks, Saltzman was the CRO for PlayOn Sports and the NHFS Network, where he was all about high school sports marketing. But get this, he was also the President and Co-Founder of Big League Broadcasting and Sports Radio 790 The Zone. That station was a big deal back in the dayโlike, the most recognizable sports radio station in the nation.
So, what do you think? Is Saltzman the right guy to lead the Hawks into this new era? Drop your thoughts below or hit me up on Twitter.
