Hornets Suffer Another Player Injury

The Hornets shared some unfortunate news on Thursday about Miles Bridges’ injury.

Details of the Injury:

Miles Bridges hurt his right knee during a game against the Pistons. The team explained that he hyperextended it in the last quarter, leading to a bone bruise. Because of this, he will miss their next game against the Pacers and won’t be re-evaluated for another two weeks.

Impact on Team Roster:

With Bridges out, the Hornets face more challenges as they are already missing key players like Mark Williams and Nick Richards. According to Rod Boone from the Charlotte Observer, players such as Taj Gibson, rookie Tidjane Salaun, Grant Williams, and Moussa Diabate will need to step up and fill in those gaps.

Bridges has been playing all eight games as a starter but has struggled with shooting accuracy lately. He’s averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game but only hitting 39.2% of his shots from the field and 26.7% from beyond the arc.

Fans hope that despite these setbacks, we can still see some exciting basketball from them soon!

The Hornets recently extended Bridges’ contract for three years at $75 million without any options attached. Even though injured, he managed to finish the match for his team. Currently sitting at a record of 3-5, they hold onto ninth place in their playoff race while aiming to make it back into playoffs since their last appearance in 2015-16.

Sometimes life throws curveballs when you least expect itโ€”like when you’re just trying to enjoy your favorite team’s season!
