The Lakers’ night went from bad to worse against the Suns, and it wasn’t just the scoreboard that hurt.
Ouch! Jaxson Hayes Takes a Hit
Tuesday night was a rough one for the Lakers. Not only did they get hammered by the Suns, losing by 27 points, but they also got some bad news about Jaxson Hayes. Just when we thought Hayes was back in action after shaking off an ankle injury, he had to limp off the court again. And, honestly, I think this is a real blow for the Lakers. The dude tried to throw down a dunk in the last minuteโtalk about bad timingโand ended up re-aggravating that pesky ankle. He played 17 minutes, scored seven points, and grabbed four boards before the unfortunate exit.
ESPNโs Dave McMenamin tweeted, โAdding injury to insult: Jaxson Hayes โ who played for the first time in two weeks tonight โ appears to have hurt himself again on a dunk in the final minute of the game. He had to be helped to the locker room.โ Ouch, right?

The Suns Shine Bright
Meanwhile, the Suns were all smiles as Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal made their comebacks, each dropping 23 points. Devin Booker chipped in with 26, and together they turned the second half into a highlight reel. The Lakers just couldnโt catch a break. Speaking of breaks, did you see that wild Curry rumor flying around? Anyway, the Lakers’ defense was like a sieve, letting everything through, and now theyโre sitting at a dismal 27th in defensive ratings. Yikes!
What’s Next for the Lakers?
Looking ahead, the Lakers are hitting the road to face the Spurs. With Hayes likely sidelined againโseriously, non-contact injuries are the worstโitโs going to be tough. Christian Koloko has been holding down the fort while Hayes was out, but letโs be real, the Lakers need all hands on deck. Can they bounce back from this slump? Or are we looking at another long season for the purple and gold?
So, what do you think? Are the Lakers doomed without Hayes, or can they pull it together?
