Jazz Rookie Confident Facing LeBron James

LeBron James is getting some bold words from a much younger player.

Utah Jazz rookie Cody Williams shared in an interview with Fox News Digital that he’s not afraid to face LeBron on the court. “Iโ€™m in the NBA for a reason,” said Williams, who was the 10th overall pick this year. “[LeBron] still has to guard me, too.”

Williams emphasized his confidence by adding, โ€œIโ€™m not going to be starstruck at all. Going to obviously respect him but going to go at him and let him know Iโ€™m supposed to be there, too.โ€

Rookie’s Bold Confidence

Standing at 6-foot-8, Williams played for the University of Colorado and made quite an impression last year. He averaged 16.8 points per game with impressive shooting percentages: 55.2% from the field and 41.5% from three-point range.

Some might think his comments are a bit boastful, but having such confidence is crucial for any player entering the NBA. Even though LeBron is almost 40 and some say he has slowed down, fans might wonder if Williams’ words will come back to haunt him next season.

While it’s important for rookies like Williams to show no fear on the court, only time will tell if he can back up his big talk against seasoned players like LeBron.

What do you think? Can Cody hold his own against LeBron?
