When the Bulls decided to shake things up this summer, they went all in by swapping Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey. This 21-year-old Aussie sensation is known for his killer passing and defense, and Chicago’s betting big on him to revive their glory days.
Windy City Youth Movement
Chicago’s got a fresh vibe going on with Giddey joining the ranks of young guns like Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Patrick Williams. All these dudes are under 25 and ready to make waves. And let’s not forget the seasoned vets like Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball adding some serious firepower. Giddey’s pumped, saying, โMy job is just to make these guysโ life easy. Iโm trying to get Zach the ball, Coby the ball, get these guys easy looks and take the load off them.โ Sounds like a plan, right?
SEASON-HIGH DIMES FOR GIDDEY
Despite the Bulls’ loss, Josh Giddey was dishing it as well as ever on his way to another solid game!

Fast Break Frenzy
Giddey and the Bulls are all about speed. โWe spoke about how we want to play: Get up the floor, kick the ball ahead and run,โ he explained. With wings like Coby and Zach, this teamโs gonna be a nightmare in transition. I think this could be the spark Chicago needs. Remember when they tried this back in 2021 with Lonzo before injuries hit? Well, Giddey fits that mold perfectly, according to GM Marc Eversley.
And hey, theyโre already making noise. Just after taking down the Bucks, they set a franchise record with 25 threes against the Grizzlies. Giddey chipped in 12 points, 13 boards, and 8 dimes. Coach Billy Donovan put it simply, โWe donโt run, weโre done. Itโs that simple. If we run, weโll have some fun.โ Couldnโt have said it better myself.
Giddey’s OKC Legacy
Before landing in Chicago, Giddey was making waves in Oklahoma City. As a rookie, he quickly became one of the league’s hottest prospects, even matching Luka Doncic’s record for triple-doubles as a teenager. Lou Williams once said, โHeโs a guy you love to have on your team but hate to go against because heโs a matchup nightmare.โ And heโs not wrongโGiddeyโs a 6-8 point guard who can see the court like a hawk.
Last season, OKC climbed to the top of the Western Conference, becoming the youngest team ever to do so. Despite a slow start, coach Mark Daigneault praised Giddey for navigating off-court challenges and adapting to new roles. Speaking of trades, did you catch that wild Curry rumor?
So, what do you think? Is Giddey the missing piece for Chicago, or will the Windy Cityโs hopes blow away in the breeze?
