Even though the Timberwolves were confident after beating the Nuggets, they are now down 0-3 against the Mavericks in the conference finals.
Critics are pointing fingers at Karl-Anthony Towns because he has been missing many shots. In Game 3, which they lost 116-107, he only scored 14 points and missed all his three-point attempts.
Coach’s Perspective:
Coach Chris Finch said, “He struggled, of course,” referring to Towns’ poor shooting performance. It was tough to watch him miss so many shots.

In the fourth quarter of Game 3, Towns didn’t score at all and missed all four of his shots. The team got outscored badly in those last five minutes.
“I’ve got to laugh,” KAT said after the game. “I’m putting up to 1,500 shots a day… To be having these unfortunate bounces and these looks that are just not going in, it’s tough.”
Teammates’ Thoughts:
Kyle Anderson believes that KAT needs to return to his old ways by playing closer to the basket and taking advantage of mismatches. “The 3s will fall,” he added.
We think it’s important for players to stay positive even when things look bad.
Despite trailing 0-3, the Timberwolves believe they can still turn things around if they stay positive. Anthony Edwards emphasized this mindset by saying they need to focus on winning one game at a time.

Edwards also mentioned that referees gave more free throws to their opponents but admitted both teams missed some free throws too.
Rudy Gobert thinks trust is key: “Basketball is not a perfect science… we got to find ways… keep trusting one another.”
The Wolves have a tough road ahead but remain hopeful they’ll find their rhythm again soon!
