Kevin Durant loves talking to people online.
He often defends himself on social media, even using fake accounts. Durant says he enjoys chatting with fans and protecting his reputation from critics.
Simone Biles inspired Durant to keep tweeting despite the negativity .
Biles faced harsh criticism when she withdrew from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for mental health reasons. She stood strong and spoke her mind, which motivated Durant to stay true to himself. Watching Biles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Durant told The Athletic that her courage made him want to keep tweeting and playing his best. “For her to continue to come out and showcase the brilliance every day, and also let people know that they sound crazy talking against her? To be able to do both is inspiring,” Durant said of Biles. “So yeah, she’s inspired me to keep tweeting and keep doing what I do on the court too.”
Durant’s Olympic Journey:
Even though Biles’ time at the Paris Olympics is over, Durant is still in the game. Team USA needs just two more wins for him to get a record fourth gold medal! They are set to play Serbia in the semifinals on Thursday. If they win, they’ll face either Germany or France in Saturday’s final match.
