So, KD’s got two years left on his deal, and the Suns are itching to lock him down for longer. But Durant? Mat Ishbia, the Suns’ owner, is practically gushing over Durant. “Everyone talks about Kevin, Kevin loves it here,” Ishbia said. “We love Kevin Durant. We talk to him and his agent, Rich Kleiman, all the time. We donโt really go through contract extensions publicly, but Iโll tell you this. Kevin loves it. We love Kevin. We plan on Kevin being here. Nothing is changing with that.” It’s like a mutual admiration society over there!
GM James Jones Chimes In
James Jones, the Suns’ GM, is singing the same tune. “We love having KD here,” Jones said. “We want him here. Weโll figure that out. Like Mat said, we donโt really talk about that publicly, but the thing we do talk about publicly is who really wants to be here and who is a great fit for us. So, we love KD, he loves being here. That goes without saying.” Honestly, I think they might just build a statue of him outside the arena at this rate.
Redemption Season?
After last seasonโs early playoff exit, the Suns are looking to bounce back in a big way. Theyโve retooled their roster and are banking on another stellar season from Durant.
