The Utah Jazz might be missing a key player when they face the Nets in Brooklyn on Saturday night.
Keyonte George’s status is up in the air after he sprained his ankle during Wednesday’s win against Detroit. That’s a tough break for the Jazz, considering George just had one of his best games, dropping 28 points against the Pistons.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Utah. They’ve only won six games all season, and George has been a bright spot, leading the team with 5.7 assists per game.
There might be help on the way, though. Isaiah Collier could step up from the G-League, where he’s been playing with the Salt Lake City Stars. But Collier’s also listed as questionable, and his last showing wasn’t great – he shot just 3-for-12 and struggled with turnovers at the G-League Showcase.
The Nets aren’t exactly healthy either. They’re dealing with their own injury headaches, with six players sidelined including their top scorer Cam Thomas, who’s still nursing a hamstring issue. Bojan Bogdanovic, Trendon Watford, Ziaire Williams, Dariq Whitehead, and Deanthony Melton are all out too.
Brooklyn’s riding a four-game losing streak, but oddsmakers still like their chances at home against the struggling Jazz.
The game could come down to whether George can suit up. His playmaking ability has been crucial in Utah’s recent improvement, and they’ll need all the help they can get on this road trip.
