Knicks Plan More Moves After Towns Trade

Between acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges, signing OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa, and extending contracts for Jalen Brunson and Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks had a super busy offseason.

Trade Talks for Mitchell Robinson:

With just three weeks until the season starts, the Knicks’ front office isn’t done yet. According to Kris Pursiainen, they’re open to trading veteran center Mitchell Robinson. He’ll miss the start of the season due to ankle surgery. Pursiainen mentioned on X that while it’s unclear if a trade will happen, the team seems ready for another big move after landing Karl-Anthony Towns.

Robinson’s Tenure with the Knicks:

Drafted in 2018, Robinson is now the longest-tenured Knick from before Leon Rose took over. After Julius Randle was traded last weekend, Robinson posted a shrugging emoji on social media with “Longest Knick” as his caption. This hinted at his frustration with the team.

Injury Concerns:

Robinson has always been great at blocking shots but has struggled with injuries. He missed 23 games in 2022-23 and 51 games last year, playing only six playoff games. The Knicks might have considered trading him even before getting Towns from Minnesota.

Fans are excited about these changes!

New Starting Center:

With Robinson out, Achiuwa was expected to start as center. But now that Towns is on board, plans have changed again.
