The Lakers are off to an amazing start this season, surprising many fans.
Redick’s Impressive Beginning
With a thrilling 131-127 victory over the Kings last Saturday, the Lakers have kicked off their season with a perfect 3-0 record. This marks their best opening since the 2010-11 season. JJ Redick has become the first Lakers coach since Bill Sharman to win his first three games.
JJ Redick starts 3-0 in his first season as head coach.
The last LAL head coach to do that was Bill Sharman in 1971-72. The Lakers won the Finals that year (their first in LA).

Comeback Kings
One of the most exciting things about the Lakers’ early success is their ability to make comebacks. Against the Suns on Friday, they erased a huge 22-point deficit and came back to win 123-116. On Saturday, they were down by 15 points in the first half and seven points entering the fourth quarter against the Kings. Then, they went on an incredible run of scoring without letting their opponents score at all! LeBron James led this charge with an impressive performance, scoring or assisting on multiple plays during this stretch.
Fans love seeing such determination from our team!
After these wins, Anthony Davis proudly stated that they’ve “put the league on notice,” showing they’re not like last year’s team that finished seventh in their conference.
A New Mindset and Upcoming Challenges
Even though most players from last year’s roster are still here, including rookies Bronny James and others joining them, there’s something different about this squad now. LeBron credits it to a new mindset and more aggressive play from Davis but warns against getting too comfortable.
“It’s still a process for us,” he said through Buha’s report. “We want to keep improving every night.” He knows tough games lie ahead during an upcoming road trip through Phoenix Cleveland Toronto Detroit Memphisโa true test indeed!
If they manage even just three wins out of five away games over those challenging eleven daysโit’ll be quite remarkable!
