LeBron & Bronny James Deny 2024 Car Crash Lawsuit Claims

LeBron James and his son Bronny are fighting back against claims they were involved in a car crash near Los Angeles in 2022. The NBA stars’ lawyers just filed papers saying none of it happened.

It’s a strange case that’s getting attention because of its timing. The lawsuit was filed last October – just one day after the historic moment when LeBron and Bronny became the first father-son pair to play together in an NBA game.

Two women, April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen, say the James family crashed into their car on November 13, 2022, while driving on a highway in Littlerock, California. They’re asking for money to cover injuries they say still need treatment, plus damage to their vehicle.

But something doesn’t add up.

The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and California Highway Patrol say they have zero records of any crash happening that day.

LeBron and Bronny’s legal team fired back hard in court last week. In papers filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, they flat-out denied everything – the crash, the injuries, all of it.

Their lawyers didn’t stop there. They listed 14 different reasons why the case should be thrown out.

“If anything happened at all, it wasn’t our clients’ fault,” the legal filing argues. It suggests that if there were any problems, they were caused by the women themselves not being careful enough.

The James team wants the judge to dismiss the case and make the plaintiffs pay their legal costs.

What makes this even more interesting is that it’s hitting just as Bronny’s getting his feet wet in the NBA. The 19-year-old rookie is living out his dad’s dream of them playing together – something LeBron’s called “everything I’ve ever wanted in basketball.”

Now they’re defending themselves together off the court too.
