The U.S. men’s basketball team took a big step towards Olympic gold with a 122-87 win over Brazil.
It was a great victory, but it came with some pain for one of the star players.
LeBron James had to leave the game after getting hit in the face by an elbow, which caused a deep cut above his eye that needed four stitches. Coach Steve Kerr shared this update after the game, according to Ben Golliver from The Washington Post.

Game Highlights:
Despite getting hurt, LeBron still managed to score 12 points in just over 16 minutes on the court. He also grabbed three rebounds, made three steals, and handed out nine assists. Brazil is known for playing tough basketball so it’s not shocking that there were injuries.
Fans might think it’s amazing how quickly LeBron bounced back from his injury.
Luckily, this injury won’t stop him from playing in Team USA’s next game against Serbia later this week. Although he left during the third quarter, he returned to sit on the bench in the fourth quarter when his team had already secured their lead.
What do you think about LeBron’s performance despite his injury?
