First, there was the “Dream Team,” then came the “Redeem Team.”
After winning gold at the 2024 Olympics, LeBron James called the star-studded United States men’s basketball team “The Avengers.” They beat France 98-87 in a thrilling final.
Team USA’s Dominance:
This nickname fits well for a squad featuring James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Devin Booker. Fans might think that this is one of the best teams ever assembled. The Americans had to overcome some tough moments during the elimination rounds but showed their true power in the end.

In Paris, Team USA brought its most powerful lineup since 1992. Their three biggest stars shined brightly in Saturday’s gold-medal game . Stephen Curry’s hot performance from the semifinals against Serbia continued into the final match. He scored 24 points with eight three-pointers.
James had a great run too, averaging 14.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 6.8 rebounds throughout the Olympics. In the final game against France, he put up 14 points, dished out ten assists, and grabbed six boards. Durant tied with Booker as second-leading scorers with each scoring 15 points.
While it’s unclear if these stars will play again in 2028 when they would all be over 39 years old (with James being 43), they haven’t shown any signs of slowing down .
Do you think they’ll come back for another gold?
