Luka Doncic Lakers Debut Jersey May Sell for $1M at Auction

Luka Doncic’s first Lakers jersey could be worth a cool million bucks – and he might not even have it anymore.

The superstar’s purple and gold debut uniform from Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz could fetch anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million at auction, according to David Kohler of SCP Auctions.

But here’s the twist: Doncic swapped his historic jersey with LA Rams receiver Puka Nacua right after the game in the Crypto.com Arena tunnels.

The sky-high value isn’t surprising given Doncic’s incredible track record. He’s putting up numbers that put him in rare company with some of basketball’s greatest legends.

Get this: His career scoring average of 28.6 points per game is the highest for any player traded since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar back in 1975.

The game was such a big deal that celebrities packed the arena. Adele, Will Ferrell, and Floyd Mayweather were among those who shelled out up to $7,000 for courtside seats. Even Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki showed up to watch his former teammate’s Lakers debut.

At just 25 years old, Doncic has already racked up five All-Star appearances and five All-NBA selections. Last season, he led the entire league in scoring with 33.9 points per game.

That performance earned him third place in MVP voting – one of the best statistical seasons anyone’s ever had. He averaged nearly a triple-double with 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game.

Here’s what makes Doncic truly special: He’s one of only three players ever to average at least 25 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists for their career. The other two? LeBron James and Oscar Robertson.

Speaking of LeBron, SCP Auctions recently got their hands on another piece of NBA history – the jerseys from when LeBron and his son Bronny became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together last October.

Whether Doncic leads the Lakers to a championship or not, his debut jersey will likely remain a prized piece of sports history. That is, if they can track down which locker it’s hanging in.
