Morant’s previous season was abruptly halted due to a severe shoulder injury in January. He managed to play only nine games before being sidelined.
Challenges and Setbacks:
Apart from injuries, Morant faced other challenges last year. The Grizzlies ended their season with a disappointing 27-55 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since his rookie year in 2019-20. But it wasn’t just bad luck on the court; off-court issues also plagued him.
Fans might feel hopeful about this news.
Morant had two major incidents involving firearms on social media that led to suspensions. The first incident occurred in March 2023 after a loss against the Denver Nuggets, resulting in an eight-game suspension. Just weeks later, another video surfaced of him holding a gun during an Instagram Live session with a friend, leading to a 25-game suspension at the start of last season.
Entering his age-25 season now offers him an opportunity to move past these troubles and focus on his game again.
So what do you think? Will he bounce back strong?
