After a great season, the Dallas Mavericks decided to keep Nico Harrison as their general manager with a new multi-year contract.
Support from the Top:
Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont believes in Nico. “Nico Harrison has shown he can lead our team,” Dumont said. “His vision and efforts have led us to two playoff appearances in three seasons and this year’s NBA Finals.” The front office wanted to secure Nico’s future before the championship series began.
The future is bright

Nico was thrilled when the new owners showed trust in him. “I am incredibly grateful to Patrick and his family for their continued trust,” he said. He also thanked Mark for hiring him despite being an unconventional choice.
Nico’s Journey:
Nico became the GM on June 28, 2021. Soon after, he signed Luka Doncic to a record-setting rookie extension and picked Dereck Lively II in the 2023 NBA Draft. Recently, he brought in Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington Jr., who strengthened the team just before facing their third-ever NBA Finals matchup.
I think it’s amazing how much he’s achieved so quickly.
Kidd’s Biggest Challenge:
Jason Kidd sees this upcoming NBA Finals as his biggest honor yet, even though he’s already had an impressive career with many accolades. Despite his success, Kidd admits coaching isn’t easy due to constant changes in the industry.

He reflected on past failures and how they taught him valuable lessons about meeting standards and improving himself continually.
Kyrie Irving respects Kidd deeply, calling him “Big Bro.” Kyrie once said that playing for Kidd would make him want to give his all for him.
