Mavericks Hire Former NBA Big Man for Front Office

The Mavericks are planning to hire Makhtar N’Diaye as their director of pro personnel and international scouting.

N’Diaye, who played in the NBA for a brief period in 1999, made history as the first player from Senegal to join the league. He has spent nine years scouting for the Knicks. His basketball journey also includes college stints at Michigan and North Carolina, playing in the NBA D League (now G League), and professional play in France.

Recently, the Mavericks have been quite active. They extended contracts for head coach Jason Kidd and GM Nico Harrison. The team reached the NBA Finals this June for the first time since 2011 .

Roster Changes:

This offseason saw some significant roster changes. The Mavericks traded Josh Green, Derrick Jones, and Tim Hardaway Jr. for Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Quentin Grimes. They also signed Spencer Dinwiddie on a one-year deal with a minimum salary.

Fans might think these moves are exciting but wonder if they will pay off in the long run.

What’s your take on these changes? Do you think they will help or hurt the team?
