More Bad News for Pelicans on Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson is still far from making his comeback to the basketball court for the Pelicans.

Injury Update:

Recently, Zion strained his left hamstring, and it’s been about two weeks since then. According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Pelicans initially thought he’d be out for four to six weeks. But now, it seems like he might be gone even longer. Zion’s had a few hamstring issues since he joined the league, so the team wants to be extra careful with him.

Zion’s Performance:

When Zion was playing this season, he was pretty impressive. In six games, he averaged 22.7 points, 8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game with decent shooting stats.

Challenges with Injuries:

Zion has faced many injuries in his career so far. Since being picked first in 2019 from Duke, he’s missed over 48 games in three different seasons because of injuries. Charania mentioned that he’s only played in 210 out of a possible 400 regular-season games.

Team Struggles:

The Pelicans have had a tough time not just because of Zion but also due to other players being hurt. Herbert Jones and guards like Dejounte Murray and CJ McCollum have been sidelined too. Right now, their record is 4-12 in the Western Conference.

We hope they can turn things around soon!

A Silver Lining:

On a brighter note, there’s some good news for New Orleans fans! Will Guillory from The Athletic shared that Hawkins and Brandon Ingram will play against the Warriors after missing some time due to injuries themselves.
