Chet Holmgren is ready to make his return to the Oklahoma City Thunder after missing nearly three months with a pelvis fracture. The timing couldn’t be better for the Western Conference leaders.
The Thunder were off to a blazing 8-1 start with Holmgren in the lineup early this season. Even without their talented rookie, they’ve continued to dominate behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s MVP-caliber play.
OKC currently sits atop the West with an impressive 40-9 record and a comfortable six-game cushion over their closest competition.
Holmgren showed why he was the No. 2 overall pick last year, averaging 16.5 points and 7.9 rebounds while playing all 82 games in his rookie campaign. He picked up right where he left off to start 2024 before the injury setback.
Now that he’s healthy again, the Thunder look downright scary. Their combination of young talent and veteran leadership has them positioned as legitimate title contenders.
