NBA Fans Mock Jimmy Butler Stained Shorts

A bizarre moment overshadowed Jimmy Butler’s solid performance in the Warriors’ 111-107 loss to the Mavericks Wednesday night, as NBA fans spotted an unfortunate-looking yellow stain on his white shorts.

The six-time All-Star was driving to the basket late in the fourth quarter, with Golden State trailing 109-107, when viewers noticed the dark discoloration near his backside. Social media immediately lit up with reactions.

“There’s just no way he pulled a Paul Pierce,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), referring to the infamous 2008 NBA Finals incident where Pierce left a game in a wheelchair.

The moment went viral when Butler walked to the Warriors’ bench during a replay review with just 17 seconds left in the game.

“Bruh, Jimmy needs a new diaper sponsor! @Huggies,” joked one X user.

“Too much coffee,” suggested another.

Despite the embarrassing wardrobe situation, Butler put up impressive numbers in the loss: 21 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in 35 minutes.

It’s been a whirlwind week for Butler since joining Golden State. He just signed a massive two-year, $121 million extension that’ll keep him with the Warriors through 2027. The deal came after he turned down his player option for 2025-26.

So far, he’s been worth every penny. In his first three games with the Warriors, Butler’s averaging 22 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.

The Warriors are hoping Butler can help turn their season around. They’re currently sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 27-27 record.

This was actually their first loss since Butler joined the team. Though the charging foul called on him late in the game (during the shorts incident) basically sealed their fate against Dallas.

One thing’s for sure – NBA Twitter won’t let Butler forget this moment anytime soon.
