NBA Three-Point Era: Greatest 30-Point Game Leaders

Kevin Durant just joined one of basketball’s most exclusive clubs. The Phoenix Suns star scored his 30,000th career point on a free throw against the Memphis Grizzlies, though his team fell 119-112.

He’s now in legendary company alongside LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to reach this milestone.

“It’s a true honor to be in the same category as those players who helped shape the game and pushed it forward,” Durant said after reaching the mark. “It’s always been my goal to get the most out of myself everyday and the most out of my career. To be mentioned with those guys, I must be doing something right.”

Durant’s incredible scoring ability has never been in question, even as he’s sometimes sparked debate with his personality and career choices. Getting to 30,000 points takes both exceptional talent and remarkable consistency – you need to score in bunches night after night, year after year.
