OG Anunoby just dropped a bombshell on the Nuggets, and Knicks fans are buzzing!
OG’s Scorching Night in New York
In a game that had Madison Square Garden rocking, OG Anunoby went off for a career-high 40 points as the Knicks steamrolled the Denver Nuggets with a jaw-dropping 145-118 victory. Since his move to the Knicks last year, OG has been the defensive anchor they needed, but now he’s proving he’s got serious offensive chops too. He told The Athleticโs James Edwards, โI pride myself on being a two-way player, not just a defender,โ and boy, did he back it up with this performance! Sixth time this season he’s hit 20+ points. Not too shabby, right?
Anunoby was on fire, hitting 16 of 23 shots, including 11 of 16 from inside the arc. He snagged five boards and dished out four assists, showcasing his all-around game. Since leaving the Raptors, he’s upped his midrange attempts from 31.5% to 35%, and it’s paying off.
Making History with a Plus-Minus Masterpiece
OG’s not just putting up numbers; he’s making history. With a plus-minus of +21 against Denver, he’s the first player ever to notch a +/- of +450 or higher in the first 40 games with a new squad. Talk about making an entrance! And with that hefty $212.5 million contract, he’s proving to be worth every penny for the Knicks. I think he’s settling into New York life just fine.

Is an All-Star Nod on the Horizon?
Remember when OG was with Toronto and he said he wanted to be an All-Star? Well, it looks like that dream’s getting closer. Historically, defensive stalwarts don’t always get the All-Star love unless they’re also lighting up the scoreboard. But this season, the Eastern Conference is a bit thin on standout wings. Jaylen Brownโs shooting has been off, Paul George is sidelined with an injury, and Paolo Banchero might be out of the running too. Sure, Giannis and Tatum are locks, but OG is making a strong case to join them.
So, what do you think? Is OG Anunoby about to crash the All-Star party?
