Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton Donates $3M To Oshkosh North High School

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is giving back in a big way, donating $3 million to his old high school in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The 25-year-old guard made the announcement during a visit to Oshkosh North High School while in town for his youth basketball camp.

“The sense of community has always meant a lot to me, and I’m wise enough to understand that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who supported me growing up,” Haliburton said.

His massive donation will fund several major upgrades at the school, including a brand-new video board in the gym, a new scoreboard, and a complete renovation of the weight room.

For Haliburton, seeing his personal logo on the scoreboard was particularly meaningful.

“That’s really cool for me. That’s very special to me and just cool to see those things here, and I can’t wait to see what they do with it as they get into the season.”

The timing of his generosity comes just after his team’s heartbreaking loss in the 2025 NBA Finals, where the Pacers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder in seven games.

Brad Weber, Haliburton’s former high school basketball coach, isn’t surprised by the player’s continued connection to his roots.

“He’s always looking to do good,” Weber explained. “It’s just another example of his commitment and his love of Oshkosh North and the community of Oshkosh.”

The donation addresses real challenges facing the school system.

“Budget problems are very real for all schools,” Weber added. “When you have someone who’s able to help make current students and players feel special, it makes a huge difference.”

Haliburton’s own high school career at Oshkosh North was nothing short of spectacular.

He led the school to its first-ever state championship in 2018, putting on a show in the title game with 31 points – including 24 in the second half – while shooting a perfect 18-for-18 from the free throw line.

His senior year stats were eye-popping: 22.9 points, 6.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, guiding the team to a dominant 26-1 record.

The two-time NBA All-Star collected numerous accolades during his high school days, including Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year and multiple all-state honors.

“You can think back to all the people who had such an impact on me – from teachers to coaches, just community members in general,” Haliburton reflected.

Now he’s making sure the next generation of students at his alma mater will have even better facilities than he did.
