PG13 Lights It Up in Philly Debut
So, Paul George just dropped a cool 23 points in his first preseason game with the Sixers. Yeah, you heard that right. This dude was on fire against the Timberwolves, hitting 8 of his 15 shots and nailing four from downtown. Not too shabby for a debut, huh? He also snagged six boards, dished out a couple of assists, and even swiped a steal. All in just 26 minutes! It’s like he never left the court.
Oh, and did I mention the Sixers just signed him to a fat four-year, $212 million deal? That’s some serious cash. But hey, when you’re a nine-time All-Star and six-time All-NBA player, you kinda deserve it. Philly’s his fourth stop after stints with Indiana, OKC, and the Clippers. Let’s see if he can bring some of that star power to the City of Brotherly Love.

Nurse’s Nostalgic Night in Iowa
Now, let’s talk about Nick Nurse. The Sixers’ new head coach had a bit of a homecoming in Iowa during this game. He used to coach the G League team there and even led Grand View University in Des Moines. So, yeah, it was kind of a big deal for him to be back. In his own words, “It doesn’t come around very often that you get to bring an NBA team back to your old stomping grounds like this.” Pretty cool, right?

In my opinion, having a coach who’s so connected to the game and its roots can only be a good thing for the Sixers. It’s like having a secret weapon on the sidelines. Plus, it’s always nice to see a coach who genuinely loves the game and its history.
