The New Orleans Pelicans are shaking things up, and it looks like Zion Williamson might be on the move.
Zion on the Trading Block?
So, here’s the scoop: the Pelicans are finally ready to entertain offers for Zion. Yep, you heard that right. This dude was the top pick in the 2019 draft and has already snagged two All-Star nods by 24. But despite his insane talent, the Pelicans are having second thoughts, mainly because of his struggle to stay on the court. Remember when he almost became the NBA’s poster boy? He was on the cover of NBA 2K and had his own Jordan kicks, but things havenโt exactly gone as planned since then.
Throwback to Zion’s Electrifying Debut
Zion’s debut in 2020 was straight-up legendary. He dropped 22 points and nailed all four of his three-point attempts in just 18 minutes. Check out the clip if you haven’t already:

Time to Move On?
Zion’s career has been a roller coaster. He played 24 games in his rookie year, then 61 in the next season. But then he missed the entire 2021/22 season, only to return for 29 games in 2022/23. Fast forward to the 2023/24 season, and he finally hit a career-high in games played, appearing in 70 matchups and averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. Not too shabby, right? But now, he’s back to just six appearances this season, thanks to that pesky hamstring issue.
In my opinion, the Pelicans’ patience is wearing thin. They’ve been on him about diet and conditioning, but it seems like it’s in one ear and out the other. Could the Warriors swoop in and snag him? Rumor has it they’re interested, especially with his hefty $197 million extension hanging in the balance due to all those missed games.
Speaking of trades, did you catch that wild Curry rumor? Anyway, what do you think? Is Zion’s time in New Orleans up, or will he turn things around?
