Pelicans Star Out Indefinitely with Major Ankle Sprain

Brandon Ingram, a forward for the Pelicans, is facing an uncertain future due to a serious ankle injury.

Details of the Injury:

Ingram got hurt during the third quarter against Oklahoma City. While attempting a shot, he was called for an offensive foul after his elbow made contact with Luguentz Dort. As Dort fell, Ingram’s foot landed awkwardly on Dort’s foot, twisting his ankle. His teammates had to assist him off the court, and he later left the arena using crutches and wearing a walking boot.

Impact on Team and Player:

This injury is tough for both Ingram and the Pelicans. Just days before, Ingram had helped end a nine-game losing streak by scoring 29 points against Phoenix. Unfortunately, this was only his second game back after recovering from another leg issue. The Pelicans have been plagued by injuries this season, making it hard to compete in the Western Conference where they currently sit at 5-19.

Fans really hope that all these injuries stop soon so we can see our favorite players back in action.

Team Adjustments:

With several key players like Zion Williamson and Jose Alvarado also out due to injuries, Trey Murphy III might step into a starting role. Javonte Green and Brandon Boston could also see more playtime as they try to fill in gaps left by injured teammates.

It’s always sad when athletes face such setbacks in their careers.
