Russell Westbrook just made history, and it was a night to remember.
Westbrook’s Triple-Double Triumph
What a night for Russell Westbrook! The dude just became the first player ever to hit 200 triple-doubles in the NBA. That’s right, two hundred! During Denver’s showdown against Memphis, Westbrook snagged his record-breaking stat line with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists. He was hunting for that last rebound with just over a minute left when Dario Saric missed a three, giving Russ the chance to leap up and grab it. Talk about clutch timing! And while he joked about not thanking Saric for the miss, he was all smiles when Saric nailed a three-pointer to seal the deal for Denver at 122-100.

Jokic’s Mysterious Absence
Now, while Russ was busy making history, his teammate Nikola Jokic was nowhere to be found. The big man has been missing in action for three games due to some family matters. It’s a bit of a mystery, but whatever it is, it’s kept him off the court. And let’s be real, Denver’s been feeling the absence of their MVP, dropping two games without him before finally pulling through against the Grizzlies. I think the Nuggets need to step up their game, with or without their star center.
Coach Malone’s Game Plan
After the game, Coach Michael Malone was asked about Jokic’s return for the upcoming match against the Mavericks. His answer? A shrug and a “no idea.” But Malone did emphasize the need for the team to play harder, regardless of whether Jokic is on the floor. “We shouldnโt play in a different way,” he said. “We have to play more physical.” Itโs like heโs saying, โHey, weโre the Nuggets, with or without our MVP, we gotta bring it!โ
So, what do you think? Can Denver keep the momentum going without Jokic, or will they stumble? And how many more triple-doubles will Russ rack up before he hangs up his sneakers?
