Russell Westbrook Renews Vows With Wife In Italy

NBA star Russell Westbrook and his wife Nina Earl celebrated their love with a vow renewal ceremony on a boat in Portofino, Italy, TMZ Sports reports.

The couple looked stunning in matching white outfits for the special day. Russell went for a bold look with no shirt under his white blazer, while Nina wore a beautiful white dress that showcased her diamond ring.

Their three children – Noah, Skye, and Jordyn – joined them for the intimate ceremony against the breathtaking backdrop of the Italian coastline.

This romantic gesture comes nearly a decade after they first tied the knot. Russell proposed to Nina in 2014 after dating for six years, and they married at the Beverly Hills Hotel on August 29, 2015.

Their original wedding was quite the star-studded affair. NBA talents Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Serge Ibaka, and Dorell Wright were all there to celebrate. James Harden even brought Khloé Kardashian as his date.

The couple’s love story began back in 2007 at UCLA, where they were both student-athletes.

In a November 2022 interview with People, Westbrook opened up about what matters most to him. “Being a father of three is what I’m most proud of,” he said.

He also praised Nina’s unwavering support throughout his career.

“She’s been holding s – t down from start to finish, and now been able to see her grow into the things that she’s been wanting to do while still supporting me and doing stuff with the kids,” Westbrook shared. “I’m just grateful to have a partner able to do all that sacrifice.”

Their UCLA connection runs deep. While Russell played for the men’s basketball team from 2006 to 2008 before being drafted fourth overall by the Seattle SuperSonics, Nina was making her own mark as a 6-foot-1 forward on the women’s team.

Russell, who turns 37 in November, has had quite the NBA journey. After 11 seasons with the Thunder (following the SuperSonics’ relocation to Oklahoma City), he’s played for multiple teams including the Rockets, Wizards, Lakers, Clippers, and most recently, the Nuggets.

He’s currently an unrestricted free agent looking for his next opportunity.

Nina, 36, was a multi-sport athlete in high school, excelling in both basketball and track before choosing to focus on hoops. Her academic achievements are just as impressive as her athletic ones – she graduated from UCLA with a psychology degree and English minor, then earned a master’s in clinical psychology.

Today, she works as a licensed marriage and family therapist, balancing her professional career with family life.
