For the Celtics to move forward, one of these three things must happen during Tuesday’s games:

If the Magic (3-0 in East: Group A) beat the Knicks (3-0 in East: Group A), it will benefit Boston due to their better point difference.

The Bucks (3-0 in East: Group B) need a win over the Pistons (3-0 in East: Group B) by at least six points.
- Alternatively, if the Pistons defeat the Bucks by seven points or more, that works too.
If any of these scenarios occur, Boston advances based on point differential despite having a similar record as other teams like Bucks, Pistons, Magic, or Knicks.
