Cedi Osman has spent the last seven years in the NBA, six of them with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the most recent with the San Antonio Spurs.
Joining Panathinaikos:
Now, at 29, Osman is making a big move to Greece by joining Panathinaikos. Interestingly, he’s not alone in this transition; Evan Fournier also signed with Olympiacos just a week ago.

Osman’s Role Last Season:
Last season under Gregg Popovich, Osman was an important bench player for the Spurs. He played an average of 17.6 minutes per game over 72 games, starting three times. His stats were solid: 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting nearly 39% from three-point range and almost 48% overall.
Fans think it’s cool that he chose to play more rather than chase money.
A Fresh Start in Greece:
By moving to Greece, Osman will now be a key player for his new team instead of coming off the bench. This change gives him more playing time and lets him stay closer to home. Plus, he’ll get to compete in the EuroLeague and show off his skills on a big stage.
Of course, leaving doesn’t mean he’s done with the NBA forever; he might come back someday if he wants another shot at it.
For now though, Osman will face off against Fournier as their teams battle it out in Greece’s top league.
A New Chapter Begins:
This could be Osman’s chance to become one of Europe’s basketball stars. Watching how he adapts to this new role will be exciting for fans everywhere! If things go well for him in Greece, this might turn out to be his best career decision yet.
