Steph Curry Makes History: First Player to Reach 4,000 Career Three-Pointers

Steph Curry just made NBA history, becoming the first player ever to hit 4,000 three-pointers.

The Warriors superstar reached the milestone Thursday evening on the road against the Kings, needing just two three-pointers to hit the mark. He got exactly what he needed.

At 37 years old, Curry continues to rewrite the record books.

This latest achievement puts him in a league of his own. No other player in NBA history has even come close to this level of three-point shooting dominance.

“4,000 3-POINTERS AND COUNTING… STEPH CURRY, IN A CLASS OF HIS OWN,” the NBA posted on social media moments after the historic shot fell.

It’s been just over three years since Curry broke Ray Allen’s all-time three-point record. On December 14, 2021, he hit his 2,974th three to pass the two-time NBA champion.

Since then? He’s been on an absolute tear.

It took Curry just 221 games to add another 1,026 threes to his total and reach the 4,000 mark.

James Harden is the only other player to even crack 3,000 career threes. Damian Lillard (2,785) and Klay Thompson (2,657) are getting closer but still have a long way to go.

The numbers behind Curry’s shooting are mind-boggling.

He has 338 games with 5+ made threes. Harden is next closest with 201.

Curry has dropped 10+ threes in a game 26 times. His former Splash Brother Thompson is second with just nine such games.

And games with 11 or more threes? Curry has 14 of those.

When Curry gets hot, the Warriors usually win. That’s been especially true since Jimmy Butler joined the team. Golden State is an impressive 13-1 with Butler in the lineup.

The Warriors will look to keep their momentum going when they face the Knicks on Saturday.
