“Inside the NBA” is set to continue delighting fans with its unique blend of sports commentary and entertainment.
Big Changes Ahead
This week, exciting news emerged that “Inside the NBA” will remain on air beyond this season. Although TNT will no longer have NBA rights after this year, the show is moving to ESPN and ABC starting in the 2025-26 season. This shift comes as part of an agreement between ESPN and TNT (full details here).
Stephen A. Smith’s Role
Barry Jackson from the Miami Herald shared a curious tidbit about the show’s future. He
that production will stay in Atlanta, which means Stephen A. Smith, who works out of New York, won’t join the regular crew. Fans were concerned he might be added to the panel since he’s a prominent figure at ESPN, but it seems he’ll only appear occasionally as a remote guest.
Sometimes we think it’s best when shows stick to their original cast because that’s what made them special in the first place.
The Core Team’s Success
Since 2011, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille OโNeal have formed a beloved team on “Inside the NBA.” Even though Stephen A. isnโt joining full-time, thereโs still some uncertainty about one memberโs contract status (more info here). Let’s hope they all stick around!
