We are just a month away from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and Team USA’s training camp is about to start.
Coach Steve Kerr spoke to the media on Thursday, confirming that all 12 players selected will attend the camp next week in Las Vegas. The only uncertainty was Kawhi Leonard’s participation due to his recent injury, but Kerr assured everyone that Leonard is ready.
“We’ve been in communication constantly,” Kerr said. “So we expect all 12 guys to be ready to roll.” Kawhi has been recovering well since his knee surgery in April.
Kawhi Leonard’s Comeback
Lawrence Frank confirmed that Kawhi is healthy and eager for the Olympics. “This is an opportunity he’s wanted for a long time,” said Frank. “He’s rehabbing and coming back with a focus on getting healthy.”
Frank emphasized that Kawhi won’t risk his long-term health. He wants to excel at the Olympics and have a great season ahead.

Tyrese Haliburton’s Recovery
Another player who had injury concerns was Tyrese Haliburton, but he now assures he’ll be ready for camp too. Coach Kerr dismissed any doubts about Haliburton’s health, stating they’ve kept constant communication.
“… Every roster spot is important,” Kerr noted. “You never know how things will play out with injuries.”
Haliburton admitted he was worried when his hamstring injury occurred during the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston Celtics but confirmed he’s fully recovered now.
“I’ll be honest, I was concerned when it happened against Boston,” said Haliburton, reflecting on missing out as his team lost to the champions in May.
Everyone hopes both stars stay healthy and shine at the Olympics!
